We arrived in Florida, safe and sound with the RV is great shape, after a week of traveling. We don’t rush to get there, usually doing around 300 miles, often less, a day. When we left Vermont the temps were in the high 50′s. Arriving here, the temp was a hot 91 degrees. It will take me a while to adjust to the heat and then about the time I do, we’ll be heading to Alabama where it’s 20 degrees cooler today.
I will share with you a slow cooker recipe you are going to love, if you love apples. My family enjoyed this Slow Cooker Apple Crisp at our brunch Columbus Day Weekend.
I hope you’ll enjoy it too. I have to tell you that I wasn’t sure it would work. I expected the apples to be hard and the “crisp” to be not like our usual crisp but it was perfect! Our grandson enjoyed it atop pancakes with some Cabot’s whipped cream!
4-5 cups apples, sliced
1 cup oats
1.5 cups flour
1 cup brown sugar
1/2 cup white sugar
3 tsp. cinnamon
3/4 cup butter
Mix everything together and put it in the greased slow cooker. Bake for 3 hours on HIGH.
Serve with ice cream, whipped cream or any way you like it!
Enjoy, my friends. It’s delicious!
