THIS POST HAS BEEN UPDATED TO SHOW THE CORRECT LINK FOR THE NEW YORK BEAUTY TABLE RUNNER #4 on the list.  Thank you to my readers for letting me know when there’s a problem so I can fix it for everyone.   Enjoy!

Another round of Friday Finds for you, my friends.   I hope you are ready for some great quilting ideas.  Many thanks to the bloggers whose tutorials I’ve shared here and to those who continue to create wonderful tutorials to make quilting a pleasure for all of us.

1.  This first Find is a Teal Flower Block which I came across over at Freemotion By the River blog HERE.  This has a little bit of several things I like, traditional piecing, string piecing and applique. What a great combination of techniques in one block!

How often do you think to add some applique to your pieced block?  I know I don’t do it often and certainly not often enough!

2.  Remember my quilted clock from earlier this summer?  Here’s a similar idea.  This Find is for a “Quilted Canvas Tutorial” which has you putting your quilt block over canvas for wall art.   We all know each individual block we make is a piece of art so I thought you’d be interested in the neat way it goes together over at Modify Tradition HERE.  I love the way she stitched the edging for the framework so neatly.

3.  Now I have another quilt design for you which I found over at Sew In Love With Fabric blog HERE.   It was part of a holiday blog hop last year and I somehow missed it.  I’m so glad I found it this month.

4.Most of my friends know my love of Mariner’s Compass, or New York Beauty, blocks.  I found this gorgeous table runner tutorial over at Freshly Pieced HERE.  It was part of a Sew Along back in 2012.  If I had known about that quilt along, I’m sure I would have been right in the middle of it!   Anyway, we found this gorgeous table runner now so we can make it for ourselves, or with THAT holiday coming, perhaps we should first make one as a gift.  Lee actually shows you how to make the New York Beauty block in this tutorial and then if you make more you can make the table runner.  I can’t resist it!  It’s going to be the next table runner I make.

5.  How about some small cute things?  There’s a darling free pattern for “Hen Party Chicks” over at Quiltscapes HERE.  A friend of mine just made a few while recuperating from some eye surgery and I thought you’d like to check out this free pattern.  It is a free downloadable pattern and at the link Deonn shows you how to make it.

That’s it for today, friends.

Remember there’s the Sew Sweet Simplicity BOM starting at the END of October. (I gave you incorrect info last Friday and Jacquelynne quickly corrected me so you wouldn’t be disappointed.)  The actual start date is 10/27/14.  You do need to sign up to receive the blocks by email FREE so be sure to check it out HERE.  I’m all signed up and I hope you’re going to sew along with us.  Remember you can machine applique or hand applique or just hand piece the blocks so there’s plenty of room for individuality here.

That’s all I have for you today.  Have a grand weekend!
